Disability and Aged Care Support that Promote Passion, Purpose, and Potential.

Igknight provides individual support in the home or in the community. All support is one-on-one (1:1) and can be varied according to your needs and funding level during our service agreement process.

  • Care Management (Aged Care) – referral to clinical support
  • Social, Community and Recreational Activities
  • Assistance with Self Care – personal care, daily living activities, medication prompt or assistance.
  • Domestic Assistance – light house cleaning, organisation.
  • Therapy Support – Speech Pathology
  • Therapy Assistance – communication assistance

NDIS Support Services

Social and Community Participation

Social and community participation is about meeting people with similar interests and joining in social and community activities. It means going where others go, doing what others do, with other people and choosing activities you enjoy.

Social and community participation also means different things to different people. It can include going to your local cafe, exercise, cycling, tandem cycling, joining a sport team, bushwalking with a friend, doing a craft class, getting work experience, or volunteering.

Social and community participation is important because it can:

  • Help you feel included and connected to others.
  • Give you opportunities to build relationships with friends.
  • Grow your social networks and help you feel more included.
  • Increase your confidence and build your ability to participate with your peers.
  • Help you develop skills to be more independent and feel safe in your community.
  • Build skills and relationships that help with getting a job.
  • Help you find activities you enjoy doing.

Daily Living Supports

Assistance with daily life, provides assistance or supervision of personal tasks during day-to-day life that enable the participant to live as independently as possible. These supports are provided individually to participants and can be provided in a range of environments, including your own home.

Support Coordination

Support coordination funding helps you to make the best use of your supports in your NDIS plan. Igknight can refer you to a trusted local Support Co-ordination service in the Illawarra.

There are three levels of support coordination that can be included in your plan:

  • Support connection: This support is to build your ability to connect with informal, community and funded supports enabling you to get the most out of your plan and pursue your goals.
  • Support coordination – coordination of supports: This support will assist you to build the skills you need to understand and use your plan. A support coordinator will work with you to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community.
  • Specialist support coordination: This is a higher level of support coordination. It is for people whose situations are more complex and who need specialist support. A specialist Support Coordinator will assist you to manage challenges in your support environment and ensuring consistent delivery of service.

Therapy Services

Igknight recognises that communication goes beyond words. Speech Pathology services start with a comprehensive assessment of each participant’s individual needs.

Igknight has a skilled Speech Pathologist, supported by a Therapy Assistant, working to enhance communication and language abilities, enabling participants to build relationships, participate in their community, and carry out daily activities that are meaningful and essential to them.

The Speech Pathologist also evaluates safe eating and drinking practices and develops Mealtime Management Plans, provides training for support workers and carers to ensure safe eating and drinking habits are maintained.

Psychosocial Recovery Coach

Psychosocial recovery coaching is a support available within your NDIS plan. If you are living with a psychosocial disability or mental health condition, we can assist you to develop skills where trauma has impacted your lives. We can refer you to a trusted local Psychosocial Recovery Coach.

A recovery coach is a NDIS funded worker that has mental health knowledge. A recovery coach will:

  • Spend time with you, and people important to you, to get to know you and understand your needs.
  • Help you to find out about different services and supports, and how these can help you.
  • Help you get support from mental health services.
  • Help you better understand the NDIS and support you with the NDIS.

Referring an NDIS Participant

Igknight is a registered NDIS provider

If you would like to refer an NDIS participant to Igknight, we offer a comprehensive onboarding process to make it as easy as possible.

Paying for Support

Support can be paid for using your Private funds or your NDIS funds (self, plan or agency-managed). Our charges are based on the current NDIS Pricing Arrangement. We provide detailed fortnightly invoices and individually track the agreed funding amount.

Supports can also be paid with private funds.

Setting Up Support

igknight delivers support that meets your personal needs and values, in accordance with your NDIS plan. We ensure meaningful, purposeful support that fits you. We talk to you and your carer to match you with the right support person (Mentor, Coordinator, or Therapist).

NDIS Code of Conduct

We operate in accordance with NDIS Code of Conduct and people who work with igknight take a range of training as part of their induction as well as participate in ongoing professional development.

Steps to Starting NDIS Funded Support

  • Referral from you, your carer, NDIS Support Coordinator, or others
  • Contact the igknight intake team
  • Service Agreement meeting (NDIS or private funded support)
  • Sign Service Agreement and Budget/Quote – Schedule of Support
  • Funds/Budget tracking system – invoicing fortnightly
  • Progress notes – through a secure online system called Day Spring Care (DSC)
  • Annual NDIS report for review (if needed)

Aged Care Support and Private fee support

Aged Care Services

At Igknight, we are dedicated to the health and well-being of all individuals, focusing on physical, mental, and social aspects.

We believe that maintaining functional movement and overall health is essential for aging well and includes assistance with home life and access to the community.

  • Support at Home – domestic assistance/light cleaning, personal care, medication prompt/assist, grocery shopping and meal prep, home organisation
  • Transport – accompanied by a support worker
  • Access to Social. Community and Recreation Activities
  • Exercise programs for individuals and group classes
  • Therapeutic support  – speech pathology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing care,

Activities you enjoy - self/private funded

Any where you can afford, we will try and support you to do it. Here are some example activities:

  • Day to day skill building
  • Support for an adventure activity
  • Overnight holidays
  • Bush walking
  • Fun park rides
  • Visit the zoo
  • Zip line

Cycling Tours

Cycle Tours NSW is an expansion of Igknight that offers customised cycling tours in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands.

We will work with participants, their families and carers to build their confidence and skills to implement their plan more independently.

Therapy Services

Our therapeutic supports can improve your overall wellbeing. Our speech therapist aims to strengthen the communication and language skills of a person so that they can form relationships, engage with others in their community and perform the daily activities that are most meaningful and essential to them.
